Just a bit of background as to who we are here...

Back in the late 80's, before the internet and mobile phones, I started work as an Industrial Software Engineer, working on everything from the Bean Counter at the Heinz factory in Wigan, or the Viagra Pelletizer for Pfizer in Cork, to the Fire and Gas Detection System for a Carbon Monoxide Factory in Iran.

These days I tend to specialize in Emergency Shutdown and Fire & Gas Detection Systems for the Oil & Gas Industry, and as such, I do spend a little time offshore, for installation and testing.

I bought my first PC (an AST 386, no use to anyone but a DOS fanatic now) in about 1990, and built my first one 12 months later. Since then, I have spent pretty much all of my time, both at work and for friends and family, building, fixing, re-configuring all manner of PC's and Laptops, and all because, sadly, I enjoy it and I'm good at it!

Having left school at 16 to obtain an Electrical Apprenticeship, I later gained vocational qualifications myself whilst working, with a Mathematics BSc from the Open University, Correspondence courses in C++, Visual Basic and Delphi, City & Guilds in Programmable Logic Controllers etc. but that's all boring stuff! You just need to know that I can make your PC work again, and yes, I can!
